SmartBee.zip

A small but very versatile Bible memory program.

It is based on the public domain SmartBee program. Here we have written a data file for it with the Bible verses used by the first two packs of Bible memory cards in the "Navigators" Topical Memory System. I recommend this system, even though it has leanings in its presentation to Arminian 'decisionism' and 'receptionism'. It is still an excellent system for scripture memory. The program is in a ZIP file which should be unzipped to a separate folder. Then put a shortcut to the SmartBee.exe file in your Startup Folder in the Windows directory. (If you need help with this - give me shout.)

SmartBee usually provides a database of "cookies" - i.e. apt (or inapt) sayings of the day etc. But if you click the config button (or go to SmartBee website) you can find out how to write your own data file - with you own Bible verses etc.in it.

When you start your PC you will be presented with a box with a randomly chosen verse from the selection in the data file. This may be minimised and kept all day, or immediately hidden and kept - or the next verse can be asked for etc.. You can place the box wherever you wish it to appear on your desk-top - simply by dragging it there. Have a look at this program. You will have no excuse now for not persevering in Bible memory - even if you have failed many times in the past. You will find Bible memory work one of the most spiritually rewarding activities you could ever engage in. - Feedback about this program please - Frederick@grace-gospel.org

A Great Series

TRACTS FOR OUR TIMES

No.1 How would you answer the question:

"What must I do to be Saved?

No.2 How should we answer the question:

"Have you been Baptised in the Holy Spirit?

These "Tracts" are the first two in a projected series. They are in Infocourier format and aim to present clear answers to the questions posed. We believe there is much confusion today concerning these question and in these short presentations we trust to give clear Bible teaching that will shed light on them.

We are also reproducing in this format some new "Tracts" which the Evangelical Tract Society have made available including the following titles:

"Do Good People Go To Heaven"

"Back to Square One"

and several others will soon be on our list. Why not ask for them to be uploaded to you - and you can place them in strategic places on the Internet and on your friends' Computers ?? :-)

IN THE CLASSIC CHRISTAN DOCUMENTS SERIES

We have the "Westminster Shorter Catechism" and "Spurgeon's Catechism" in Infocourier Format now available.

Spurgeon's Catechism is also available in a Windows "Help File" format.

WHITEFIELD'S REPLY TO WESLEY

The 18th century saw two of the greatest Evangelists and Preachers raised up in England. The first was the Rev. George Whitefield and the second, the better known Rev. John Wesley. Both were ordained ministers of the Church of England.

Whitefield (pronounced Whitfield) lived from 1714 to 1770.

Wesley lived from 1703 to 1791.

They were instrumental in what is called "The Great Awakening" or "The Evangelical Revival" of the 18th Century.

Wesley is well-known as "the founder of Methodism". In fact he was the originator of "Wesleyan Methodism" which was first established as a "Society" within the Church of England and later separated. This was distinct from "Calvinistic Methodism" in sympathy with the teaching of Whitefield and which gained a larger following in Wales.

What differentiated the two forms of "Methodism" was the "Arminianism" and "Perfectionism" of Wesley and his followers on the one hand, and the adherence to the "Doctrines of Grace" by Whitfield and his followers on the other.

(For further help in understanding the nature of the differences in our understanding of the teaching of the Bible in regard to these doctrines- ask for "Arminianism and the Doctrines of Grace" - free from Grace Gospel Software. This presentation is produced for "the man in the pew" - not just for scholars or academics.)

In 1741 Wesley had a sermon printed which attacked the doctrine of "predestination". This doctrine was seen by Whitefield to be crucial to the Gospel and to the whole of one's understanding of the Christian Faith.

What we present here is his famous REPLY to Wesley's Sermon.
